Takeout Thai Food From Suwana’s Thai Orchid

Tonight we grabbed takeout from Suwana’s Thai Orchid as part of our research for a best Thai food in Asheville list.

We ordered the mild-spiced massaman curry with chicken, hot-spiced panang curry with beef, chicken satay with cucumber salad, edamame (kid favorite!) and crispy spring rolls.

I placed the order online and it was ready when I arrived 30 minutes later. I was so happy to snag a curbside pickup spot right out front! Suwana’s had our dinner bagged up when I arrived. There is a grab-and-go table in the front with plastic utensils, napkins, chopsticks and fortune cookies.

Everything we ordered was great, though I wasn’t the biggest fan of the chicken satay. Our oldest loved it, though, and claimed the peanut sauce as his own so that worked out.

The hot panang beef was too spicy for me (!!!), but I LOVED the massaman curry. It has coconut milk, peanuts, potatoes, onions and carrots, and was topped with diced tomatoes. Next time we will go with a medium spice level for the panang curry.

We had enough food left for another dinner, which is a win in my book! I want to try the basil stir fry and green curry on my next visit. Writing it down so I don’t forget and perhaps it will inspire you too.
