We recently enjoyed takeout from Thai Pearl delivered by Kickback and wanted to share a bit of details about it. Overall it was a really great experience, from ordering to delivery to the quality of the food.
If you are unfamiliar, Thai Pearl is an excellent spot for Thai food in West Asheville and Kickback is a local food and beverage delivery service.
Our Thai Pearl Dinner
We ordered Chicken Satay, Drunken Noodles, Massaman Chicken Curry and Pad Thai. The drunken noodles dish was hands down my favorite of the night. Our son had them the next day and also really enjoyed them. The Pad Thai was also exceptional.
We went with mild spice on the Massaman Curry (curry of tamarind, cumin, turmeric & coconut milk with carrots, onion, & potato topped with crushed peanuts & crispy onion), but next time I think I will switch to medium. That’s the opposite of our experience at Suwana’s, by the way! I really enjoyed the curry, especially the crushed peanuts on top. Suwana’s tops theirs with diced tomatoes, which is also a winning combination. The Panang Beef Curry was also really good and another one where we’d switch to medium spice next time.
And finally, the chicken satay (three chicken skewers marinated in turmeric brown sauce served with peanut sauce & cucumber salad) was pretty good. I enjoyed it more than the one we had from Suwana’s, though I don’t think I need to get it again. I’ll stick to the drunken noodle and curries!
Final Thoughts on Thai Pearl
One thing I noticed before ordering is how helpful their Instagram account is. Whenever they post a dish they make sure to put the name of the dish in the caption. Sifting through the photos makes me want to try everything!
