Tube World at Cataloochee Ski Area will open mid-to-late November. They don’t have an opening date yet, but they will announce on social media once they do.

Tube World at Cataloochee Ski Area is a top snow tubing destination near Asheville. They are planning to open mid-to-late November for the 2024 season.

Tube World boasts 6 tubing lanes and a conveyor lift, promising a fun time for all ages!

Located in Maggie Valley, NC, Tube World is convenient to Asheville with a drive time of just under an hour.


10725 U.S. 23 | Mars Hill

Zip n Slip has a planned opening date of December 13, 2024.

Zip n Slip is one of Western North Carolina’s most popular snow tubing parks. Featuring 10 snowtubing lanes with steep decent it makes for outdoor winter fun for the entire family.

Their magic carpet lift will get you back to the top of the hill with your tube without much effort. One feature that sets them apart are their lighted slopes for night tubing as they are open until 9 pm.

Zip n Slip is conveniently located near I-26 just north of Mars Hill and only about a half an hour from downtown Asheville.

The 2024/2025 season opening date is on December 13. Zip n Slip is open 7 days a week from December 13 until January 12 and then Friday through Sunday and holidays after that.

Black Bear Snow Tubing has a planned opening date of December 21, 2024.

You will find 3 tubing lanes that are over 600 feet long at Black Bear Snow Tubing. It’s the perfect place for fast downhill fun in the snow.

Located just 45 minutes from downtown Asheville near Hendersonville and Lake Lure, its the perfect place to spend some time this winter.

Black Bear has a tow lift and snow machines to keep you moving up and and down the mountain. They have state of the art snow making equipment.

The 2024/2025 season opening date is scheduled for December 21. They will be open daily through the end of the year and on weekends and holidays after that.

Moonshine Mountain has not yet announced dates for their 2024 tubing season.

Moonshine Mountain Snow Tubing Park offers outdoor winter fun for the whole family. With 500 foot long runs and a tow lift, it’s a great place to have an exhilarating time and get some fresh cold mountain air. And don’t worry, they have snow machines on site in case there hasn’t been any snowfall.

The opening date for the 2024 season has not yet been announced. Moonshine Mountain is open Friday through Sunday and on weekdays during holiday weeks.

Note that you cannot reserve tickets in advance and they accept cash only (with an ATM on site).


127 Cherokee Trail | near Highlands-Cashiers

Frozen Falls Tube Park has not yet announced dates for their 2024 tubing season.

Frozen Falls Tube Park offers winter fun for all ages in the Ski Sapphire Valley ski resort. They have no age or height restrictions so it truly is for all ages.

While Frozen Falls is a bit further from Asheville than other snow tubing parks at a 1.5-hour drive, it’s one of the closest parks that also offers the opportunity to ski.

Frozen Falls’ tubing slopes offer a 500-foot run with a 60-foot vertical drop. They have a ‘moving sidewalk’ to get you back up to the top of the hill.


Hatley Pointe – Formerly Wolf Ridge Ski Resort

Hatley Pointe will not be offering snow tubing for the 2024/2025 season and will reevaluate for future seasons.
