About Nantahala Outdoor Center
The Bryson City, NC flagship campus of the Nantahala Outdoor Center is a mecca for outdoor adventure enthusiasts with world class rivers and mountains.
Their 500 acre property is full of adventure activities as well as riverside dining, a general store and outfitter situated perfectly in the Smoky Mountains on the Nantahala River.
Located just over an hour from Asheville, it’s a great outdoor adventure destination!
Whitewater Rafting at Nantahala Outdoor Center
A whitewater rafting guide since 1972, NOC knows the Nantahala River better than anyone. Whether you want to tackle the rapids in a raft of inflatable ducky kayak they have you covered.
Check out their options for a guided trip or if you prefer rent a raft or kayak for a self-guided trip with shuttle return.
They also offer an intro to whitewater kayaking course to get your kayaking journey started. It’s a great way to enjoy the exhilaration of whitewater with experienced guides.
River trips are available from March to October.
Ziplining at Nantahala Outdoor Center
One of Nantahala Outdoor Center’s most popular outdoor activities is ziplining.
They offer a long zipline tour with their Mountaintop Zipline Tour which culminates in a 2,000 foot zip. Participants of the Mountaintop Zipline Tour must be 10 years or older.
NOC also offers a shorter Zip Line Adventure Park — an aerial ropes challenge course with zip lines. Children must be 6 years or older to participate.
They also have Treetop Adventure Nets course for ages 3 and up.
Ziplining is available from March through November.
