Merrimon Ave is the main corridor in North Asheville and is where you’ll find most of the restaurants featured. The only exceptions are those along nearby Charlotte Street and a few located near or inside the Omni Grove Park Inn.

Plant is an upscale vegan restaurant in North Asheville. Their menu is 100% vegan with a focus on local ingredients.

The dishes change frequently but are consistently amazing –  like an incredible cheese plate and unforgettable mushroom ravioli. Most menu items are gluten-free or can be adapted, and the dessert menu is a must-try.

Casual taco spot with a local vibe

Taco Temple is a neighborhood favorite taco spot. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner tacos on freshly-made corn or flour tortillas.

They also offer generously portioned tortas and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Don’t miss the churro tots for dessert!

Luella’s Bar-B-Que is a local favorite BBQ spot. They’re known for Eastern Carolina-style BBQ with a touch of vinegar, but they also offer several other sauce varieties.

ELDR is a New American restaurant in Grovewood Village. The charming spot serves lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

You’ll find sophisticated classics like locally baked focaccia, pastas highlighting seasonal produce, and the ELDR burger with 24-day aged beef. Beverage offerings include natural wine, craft coffee, and cocktails.

828 Family Pizzeria is a family-run Italian restaurant. They offer some of the best thin-crust New York-style pizza in Asheville.

Bone and Broth is an upscale steakhouse in North Asheville. The Southern-inspired menu features premium dry-aged steaks, bone-in specials, and great appetizers.

They emphasize local sourcing, with baked goods from Geraldine’s, meats from Chop Shop, and produce from Joyce Farms.

With an upscale yet laid-back atmosphere, Bone and Broth is a great spot for a date night in North Asheville.

Sunset Terrace is an upscale restaurant at the Omni Grove Park Inn with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The locally-driven menu includes perfectly cooked steaks, fresh seafood, and innovative vegetarian creations. Don’t miss the chophouse wedge salad and the tenderloin filet.

City Bakery is a neighborhood bakery offering fresh-baked bread, pastries, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches.

Menu highlights include cinnamon rolls, sourdough boule, and the cheddar and scallion biscuit (which makes an excellent breakfast sandwich with bacon egg and cheese.) 

City Bakery is a great stop for a fresh quick bite to eat in North Asheville. Seating is available inside, and there’s a few tables out front on Charlotte Street.


Charming bakery with incredible pastries

OWL Bakery North is a charming European-inspired bakery known for amazing pastries and excellent coffee.

It’s a must-visit for pastry lovers – standouts include the apple turnover, cardamom bun, and almond rose croissant, along with savory options like the ham and cheese croissant (featured on our best breakfast sandwiches list). 

OWL Bakery North has limited indoor seating, so it’s a treat to snag a table.


NY-style bakery with breakfast sandwiches and donuts

Geraldine’s is a New York-style bakery in North Asheville on Merrimon. It’s a go-to for locals in the morning for pastries, bagel sandwiches and their famous Boston Cream Donut.
