Where To get COffee In Downtown Asheville
Rowan Coffee is an absolute dream of a coffee shop! It’s in downtown Asheville and is perfectly moody, with excellent music and coffee. Don’t miss their pour-overs or seasonal specials. They have pastries from The Rhu and Back Porch Baking Co.
Tucked away on Rankin Avenue, High Five Coffee is a great spot for coffee in downtown Asheville. They brew Counter Culture and have pastries and breakfast sandwiches available. There are a few seats at the window that make for great people-watching, and a few community-style high-tops scattered throughout. I personally like sitting by the bar and watching the baristas. Speaking of, try the barista specials! Always delicious and creative.
Rite Rite is an Instagram-worthy coffee shop with beer and wine in downtown Asheville. Coffee, You’ll also find shrubs, matcha, quiche, biscuits and pastries on the menu. Rite Rite brews local favorite Cooperative Coffee and has a small marketplace, too. You’ll love the brick walls, industrial loft feel, ample outdoor seating and the cool baristas. It’s a super open and welcoming spot.
Session Cafe is a hidden gem in downtown Asheville. Located just across from the Grove Arcade, this locally-loved spot is a great place to work remotely, dine on delicious food, or catch up with friends. It’s like a coffee shop, cafe and upscale bar all rolled into one. And there’s also a record press, plant shop and print shop in the same space. Almost sounds too good to be true!
Pollen Coffee + Flower Shop is a cute coffee shop and flower bar located on the outskirts of downtown Asheville. Get a latte and build a bouquet! While the flower bar doesn’t open until 10, they do have mini bouquets available when the coffee shop opens at 8 daily. The coffee is great and the vibes are 10/10.
Summit Coffee is an excellent coffee shop in downtown Asheville. They have outdoor seating, tons of plants, absolutely delicious specialty drinks and really good whole bean coffee for purchase. They are a roaster, after all! I’m typically a plain iced latte person but absolutely love trying out their seasonal creations. Get the strawberry matcha lemonade if it’s available!
The Rhu is a great coffee spot, bakery and sandwich shop in downtown Asheville. They have amazing and beautiful pastries, the world’s best brownie and excellent breakfast + lunch options. They also offer picnic lunches for your next Asheville excursion.
Old Europe is a bakery in Asheville that specializes in decadent desserts and espresso drinks. They are located in downtown Asheville next to the AC Hotel.
Izzy’s Coffee Den is a super laidback coffee spot in downtown Asheville. It’s a great place to pop in for an iced latte and hot bagel. You’ll find it on Lexington Ave, which is an excellent street for shopping. Nearby shops include Nest Organics, East Fork Pottery and Hip Replacements.
PennyCup Coffee has great coffee, a very colorful mural and real penny tile in their bathroom! Their downtown location is a bit off the main path, but that may be why we like it so much. You’ll find a variety of baked goods, housemade granola + yogurt, bagels and bagel sandwiches. They also have gluten-free bread available.
Asheville Club may not sound like it would be a coffee shop, but that’s part of the appeal. It’s a coffee, beer and wine bar and a fun place to spend an afternoon. They serve espresso drinks, Counter Culture and have a great beer selection, locally brewed ginger beer and ciders.
Double D’s is a double-decker bus parked on a corner in downtown Asheville that serves coffee and cocktails. It’s definitely a fun visit for tourists and kids! Just make sure to bring cash because it’s one of the few cash-only establishments in Asheville. There are nearby ATMs if you are in a pinch, though.
