Cucina24 temporarily closed in February 2025
In February 2025, the Asheville culinary community mourned the loss of Chef Brian Canipelli, owner of Cucina24, who passed away from a heart attack. Both Cucina24 and Contrada remain closed.
Cucina24 is an Italian-inspired eatery in downtown Asheville. Their menu features handmade pasta and exquisite meat and seafood dishes.
We recommend starting with the focaccia with olive oil. As far as entrees go, the tagliatelle al ragù is always a delight. However, the real star of the show is the tasting menu that allows you to try various appetizers, pasta, an entree and dessert. Speaking of dessert, we love their ricotta zeppole with six (!) sauces. They also have gelato and sorbetto on the menu.
The atmosphere at Cucina24 is cozy and intimate, with low lighting, hardwood floors and exposed brick walls. The kitchen is open and the pizza is cooked in a wood-fired oven.
Cucina24 is a must-visit for those seeking an authentic Italian dining experience in Asheville.
