Sky Top Orchard

Sky Top Orchard is one of the most popular orchards near Asheville. It’s located in Flat Rock, NC and is open daily during the season from 9 am to 6 pm (5 pm before Labor Day.)

Sky Top offers U-Pick apples, cherries, peaches, asian pears and grapes. The apple variety changes each week but you can find out what’s available on their website.

You’ll find a main fruit stand area with pre-picked apples and produce, snacks (kettle corn, pies, caramel apples), apple cider, and apple cider slushies. They also have apple butter, jams, jellies, honey and baking mixes.

Sky Top is not only known for its amazing views and delicious apples, but it also has several great attractions! And they are one of the only orchards in the area that offer all of the various activities (apple cannon, bee train, etc.) on weekdays.

Attractions at Sky Top include a tractor ride, bee train, apple cannon and gem mine. You can either pay cash at the attraction or buy vouchers at the main market area for each. They also have a bamboo maze, lots of playground equipment and a small farm area with goats and peacocks.

One thing to note is that their apple cannon is powerful! It’s loud and the apples absolutely fly. They have hearing protection available by the cannons (you’ll want it!)
