About Bun Intended

Bun Intended permanently closed in September 2024

Bun Intended did not reopen following Hurricane Helene. Flour took over their space and opened Flour Sandwich Shop in January 2025.

Bun Intended is a food truck and food hall restaurant serving Thai street food in Asheville. Their specialty is steamed buns and boy are they good at it! You can also opt for a rice bowl if you prefer.

In addition to steamed buns, Bun Intended also has a few snacks like papaya salad and asian slaw, as well as a perfectly sweet Thai iced coffee.

Bun Intended started as a food truck and opened its first brick-and-mortar when S&W food hall opened in 2021. We love dining at S&W and getting food from a variety of vendors, including Bun Intended. It’s the perfect place for families or a group of people when everyone wants something different.

Check their site for the food truck schedule. It’s typically found at New Belgium brewery and special events around town.
