Mother Bakery & Cafe

Mother Bakery & Cafe is a charming cafe, wine shop and marketplace in South Slope. It’s somehow both the perfect place for a French omelet or quiche for brunch and a braised short rib sandwich for dinner. Every single dish is truly outstanding!

Not only are their various entrees amazing, but they also sell their sourdough bread at the shop. Their sourdough is the source of their origin (and the inspiration for their name.) Try any of their focaccias or classic sourdoughs.

Their original location in the River Arts District, Mother (Bread + Wine), offers a similar focus on artisan bread, pastries, and wine. However, it primarily functions as a retail bakery and wine shop and does not have space for you to linger too long. Get a loaf of bread and a piece of their chocolate babka!
