Support Local Businesses From Afar
One of the best ways to support local Asheville businesses in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene is to order goods directly from them. We have compiled a list of Asheville businesses that can ship post-hurricane to help get you started. It includes local shops, brands and artists.
Not only can you buy local goods to get money in Asheville’s economy, but you can also support the area with the purchase of the goods below. They were designed by Asheville locals to raise money for businesses, restaurants and artists affected.
With Love From Asheville Tote
Designed by 11-year-old Jonah King, the ‘With Love From Asheville’ tote was launched by local River Arts District shop There There to raise funds for displaced artists.
The 14oz heavyweight cotton tote features an image of the mountains with the text “With Love From Asheville” as the sun.
All proceeds go to River Arts District artists.

Along the same lines, local Asheville creative agency Atlas Branding launched a hat to raise funds for businesses and restaurants affected. The 100% cotton hat features a bear holding a WNC flag. It was designed by Atlas.

Local Pisgah Forest, NC bike shop Sycamore Cycles launched a ‘Ride For WNC’ campaign to raise money for those affected. They have t-shirts (adult and youth sizes) and hats available.
All proceeds will go to local charities helping to rebuild Western North Carolina.
dine Locally
A few local restaurants have reopened after the hurricane. Most are in South Asheville as this is the area of town where water has been restored for the majority of customers. Please note that many of the restaurants are operating as cash-only with limited menus.
GoFundMe Links For Local Businesses
Several Asheville businesses have opened after the hurricane, but many remain closed due to damage sustained and/or lack of utilities. To help bridge the gap for their employees, many businesses have launched fundraisers that go directly to staff wages.
We are collecting these links as we see them and will share them below. Make sure to read the description of each fundraiser to see the planned use of funds by each business. A few dollars would go a long way!
