Hurricane Helene + Asheville

Resources for how to help, where to donate, restaurants that are open and more in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

Hurricane Helene In Asheville

On September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene brought significant rainfall and flooding to Western North Carolina.

The storm caused widespread damage, particularly in the River Arts District and Biltmore Village, both home to many local shops, restaurants, and artist studios + galleries.

Asheville's economy, which is heavily reliant on tourism (especially during the fall season), was significantly impacted by this natural disaster. The money from fall visitors is typically what keeps local businesses afloat during the slower winter months.
