About Weaver Park
Weaver Park is featured in our list of the best playgrounds in Asheville! Check it out to get all of the info on the best playgrounds in and around the area!
Weaver Park is one of our favorite parks in Asheville! You’ll find a great playground with a climbing structure, slides, swings, sand box and rocking animals. They also have a paved loop around the park that’s great for walking a dog or riding a bike. Our oldest loves it because he can ride a bit ahead of us while we push the younger in a stroller. We can see around the whole loop so we never lose sight of him!
Apart from the great playground, Weaver Park also has a baseball field, basketball court and tennis courts. A creek runs through Weaver Park that is absolutely fascinating for the younger ones. There’s a large picnic area by parking on Murdock (another lot is on Merrimon by the tennis courts.) Restrooms are available by the covered picnic area.
We think Weaver Park’s playground is especially great for younger kids. Typically we grab a picnic lunch from somewhere nearby, like City Bakery, HomeGrown or Luella’s before going. You’ll also find YoLo frozen yogurt and Whit’s Frozen Custard close by, too.
