Antique Shops in Asheville, NC | The Ultimate Guide

This guide to antique shops in Asheville shares the best places to find antiques, vintage goods, and tiny treasures.

Asheville’s antique shop landscape shifted significantly due to the impact of Hurricane Helene. Both Biltmore Antiques District, which was a hub for vintage and thrift stores, and the River Arts District experienced severe flood damage. Closures are detailed below or you can jump to the list of open shops.

Biltmore Antiques District Closures

Several prominent locations in the Biltmore Antiques District closed due to Hurricane Helene, including Antique Tobacco Barn, Atomic Furnishing, Regeneration Station, Altamont Vintage, and Biltmore Lamp & Shade Gallery.

We are happy to share that Atomic Furnishing has reopened in North Asheville following the storm. It’s located just across from HighFive Coffee in Five Points.

River Arts District Closures

Marquee, Antiques at Riverview Station and Sunnyside Trading Co. are all temporarily closed following the hurricane.

Other Asheville Antique Shop News

The ScreenDoor, another beloved Asheville antique shop, also closed in Fall 2024, though it was pre-planned and unrelated to the hurricane.

Despite the shop closures, Asheville still has a few antique shopping opportunities, and we have detailed this in our guide below. Keep in mind that the situation is currently in flux, and hopefully, more shops will return soon!

Where To Find Antiques In Asheville

Antique shop near Biltmore Village

Sweeten Creek Antiques & Collectibles is an eclectic antique market in Asheville with 125 vendors and 31,000 square feet.

I always notice vintage items at Sweeten Creek Antiques- lunchboxes, toys, signs, holiday decor, travel souvenirs, etc. It would be my first stop if I were in the market for something like that.

But it’s not just collector’s items at Sweeten Creek. They also have a ton of furniture and decor and just… stuff. It’s fun to browse and make a morning of it.

There’s a large parking lot around the back, and well-behaved dogs are allowed.

Restored furniture, vintage clothing & more in North Asheville

Atomic Furnishing & Design is an excellent destination for beautiful furniture and fun finds.

You’ll find some of Asheville’s most beautiful mid-century, modern, and retro furniture that has been perfectly restored. This is the work of the husband-and-wife duo who own the gallery.

Apart from the furniture, you’ll also find the work of over 30 different artists and vendors. Vendors are divided into stalls, and you’ll find pillows, plants, art, vintage clothing, candles, rugs, and more.

Higher-end antiques in Asheville

Village Antiques is a high-end antique store just north of the Biltmore Village shopping and dining district. It’s a true European antique store in Asheville with 17th, 18th, and 19th-century French, English, and American Antiques.

We recommend Village Antiques if you are in the market for fine antiques, but not if you are looking to find trinkets, odds & ends, and cheap finds.

Village Antiques is located in the same building as Standard Pizza. You can park to the right of the building and take the sidewalk in.

Gently used building materials, furniture and home goods

The Asheville Habitat ReStore is a treasure trove for budget-conscious homeowners and DIY enthusiasts, offering a wide array of gently used and surplus building materials, furniture, and home goods.

The ReStore is more than just a thrift store, though. It’s a vital part of Habitat for Humanity’s mission to provide affordable housing in the Asheville area.

They operate on a donation-based model, receiving items from individuals, businesses, and contractors. Inventory is constantly changing, so each visit is a unique shopping experience.

Their Asheville location was devastated by hurricane floodwaters in September 2024 and remained closed through the winter. Luckily, they were able to reopen and are back to providing for the community!

There’s a second ReStore location in Fletcher, NC, just a few miles south of South Asheville. Speaking of, see below for a few additional Fletcher antique shops.

The Garage on 25

Vendor booths & a coffee shop + cafe near South Asheville

The Garage on 25 is located on Hendersonville Highway in Fletcher, NC. It’s only a few minutes from South Asheville and worth a visit. You’ll find two levels of handcrafted, retro, and vintage treasures. There are over 80 local makers, creators, and collectors featured.

The Garage on 25 is connected to All Is Well Cafe, a local coffeehouse with breakfast and lunch. Plan to grab something there before strolling around the antique shop.

Lulu’s Consignment

Consignment clothing, furniture and home decor

You’ll find Lulu’s Consignment just down the road from The Garage on 25. It’s incredibly large, with two levels of clothing, furniture, home decor, and more.

LuLu’s prioritizes clean and affordable items and maintains guidelines to ensure that consigned goods are in good, sellable condition.

Most of the furniture on the upper level seems newer (compared to older antiques), but there are often a few antique finds on the downstairs level. Their inventory changes frequently so it’s a fun place to pop in regularly.

Lexington Park Antiques

If you are on the hunt for antiques in downtown Asheville, be sure to check out Lexington Park Antiques. And we mean hunt quite literally- it’s a maze! There are numerous booths and hidden nooks to discover. You can spend hours here and not see it all.

Uncommon Market

Uncommon Market is Asheville’s largest curated antique pop-up market. You’ll find so many great antiques, art pieces, vintage decor, jewelry, and more.

The 2025 dates for the Uncommon Market are 4/27, 5/18, 9/28, and 10/26. These events are outside at Mission Health/AB Tech parking lot. Friendly dogs are welcome.

The Uncommon Market will host their Summer Extravaganza at Haywood Park Hotel on July 12 and 13, 2025. It’s an indoor event with free admission. Service dogs only!

Their holiday market will be December 6 and 7, 2025, at the Haywood Park Hotel in downtown Asheville. Like the summer event, their holiday market is an indoor event with free admission and service dogs only.
